A fellow Connect-or asked me to post the inventory XML we are using to pull Autodesk (AutoCAD, Inventor, and a few other products') serial numbers from the registry to help ensure proper serial numbers are being used.  Well here it is!  Given the list of "known" locations, I think this could be converted for use with 7.x as a script-based inventory without too much trouble.  This is a few years old, so may need some updating for the latest versions.  The initial version of this was provided to us by AutoDesk, and we updated/revised it a bit.

Alice: Enjoy, and I hope it meets your needs!

KSchroeder, The XML that you have provided is incomplete. Could you please upload a fixed version?

Thanks!

Well it is complete as of the most recent data we had from Autodesk; we haven't refreshed it with the latest product versions actually. I just re-downloaded and the XML seems to be complete; you may need/want to remove the %startfile% bits.

Thanks,
Kyle

Is this compatible with 7.1?  Was this created for 6.x?  I'm not familiar with 6.x, but I do think I can convert this to a script based inventory.

Yes, that is a 6.x custom inventory file.  You can either use it to help you create a native 7.x run script, or create a software release that contains the relevant 6.x files and deploy it via a managed software delivery policy.
