Download Sites Feature SVS-Ready Applications [Updated]

Take a look at these sites that host nothing but (legally) virtualized applications ready to be downloaded and activated. One in English, one in Dutch, and now one in German as well!

These sites help to drive home the power of virtualization. Each hosts a collection of already-virtualized, ready to launch, free software applications. Just download, import and activate and try them out. Don't like the software? No problem; deactivate and delete and it's gone for good, leaving nothing behind.

If you want to try out SVS but aren't in the mood to virtualize your own app library yet, this is a great place to start. Or for dedicated SVS shops, you might be surprised what useful software is available out there for free that you'll want to use forever.

The applications are covered by various open source licenses so downloading them and putting them to work is well within the bounds of the law.

Virtualize IT!

Let's keep this going!!!

How long until the developers of these and other great open-source/freeware/etc. programs get the juice and start virtualizing their own apps? :-)

On your computers, get SVS installed, virtualize!

Thanks for this info, I am

Thanks for this info, I am really interested in Open source and this site is really the state of art of virtualization and Open Source.

I hope that a lot of other people will be developing the same concepts as svsdownloads.com.

New SVS Packages website hosted on SourceForge.net

I have also started a project to publish and manage the SVS packages of latest version of many GNU applications.
The project can be accessed at http://sourceforge.net/projects/appvrepo/.

1-Click-Import

Hey,
I have also some SVS packages on my homepage. (Currently 24)
But even with self-import. The SVS package is in a *. exe file. Simply click and then immediately begin the import.
You can also activate or delete the Layer with one *.exe File.
