DS Jobs: Remotely Add User/Group to Local Group (Admin/Powerusers etc)

This is a simple job to add AD users/groups to a local group. I use this to add our IT Dept to the Local Admin groups so we can manage the machines fully without being Domain Admin's.

You can either follow the following instructions to do this yourself or you can import the job at the bottom of the page.

  • Open the Deployment Console and create a new Job. Name it appropriately.
  • Add a "Run Script" task to the job.
  • Edit the Run Script. Select the "Run The Script From File" and select the .vbs file attached to this post.
  • Leave the script to run in the Windows OS.
  • Click Next. You may need to check the appropriate permissions on this page
  • Click Finish...
  • As always test this job works before using it globally.
