Easy Excluder v2.1
Starf0x created this gem of a timesaver to help users who leverage a virtual OS to generate layers. Easy Exclude makes it easy to examine newly-created layers, determine what should be stored with the application (or the base), and easily make the necessary exclusions. [Updated to manage Global Excludes.]
Let's review the correct steps to use this program;
- Capture your application.
- Leave the layer activated and start your captured application.
- Do a lot of things with it.
- Now deactivate your layer.
- Open the properties of the layer and expand the Writable part if the Files.
- Now look at what kind of folders are used (Yellow folder).
- See if the information stored there is important to the application.
- If it is not, exclude that folder in Easy Excluder.
For example:
As you see that information can be ignored, now make the following setting in Easy Excluder
And remove the content of the TEMP folder of the Layer.
Now check all the folders you find and, when neccesary, exclude them.
Click Save in Easy Excluder, and export your layer.
Added the U3 Version of EasyExcluder, you can now use it from any U3 capable Portable Device.
History
Update v2.1
- Added: the [COMMONFILES] value.
Update v2.0
- You can choose now for Layer Exclusions or Global Exclusions. I haven't seen it working as I don't have the Beta 2 version, but I know where these settings are made, and it works flawless.
Update v1.2
- After many uses I was unsatisfied with all that clicking I had to do. So I added a button that allows you to check or uncheck all the checkboxes. And behold, Easy Excluder is more fun to use now.
Update v1.1
- Fixed: There was an issue reading some layers. This is now fixed.
Kind Regards, Starf0x
