Icon-Restore v1.1

Thunder-man's picture

Icon-Restore was created to help with saving and restoring the icon layout when you activate and deactivate layers. If you own (or dream of owning) one of those fancy-pants laser levels, this tool was made for you. [Completely rewritten. No longer relies on DeskSave.]

Saves and restores the icon layout. (Separate for layers and desktop icon.)

If you activate a layer, do you search for the program icon on the desktop?

Description:

"Icon Restore" produces the stored position of the program icon automatically if you activate a Layer. And only for the Layer icon, all other icons remain as if untouched.

After a layer is activated, the program icon is selected.

(If we press Enter the program starts.)

How to use:

  1. Run "Icon-Restore.exe"
  2. Choose a Layer, or mark a desktop icon.
Press the hotkey [Alt] + [X]

The icon name is filled and searched for a Layer name.
(If no Layer name is found, please select one.)

You can also Drag and Drop a Desktop icon (From a active Layer)
    klick save.

Icon-Restore sets "OnPostActivate" in the Registry.
If a Layer is activated, "Icon - Restore" produces the position again.
(Only for this layer icon - not for the complete Desktop)

We can also store the position all desktop icons and restore.

The position of layer and desktop icon is stored apart.

Feature:

  • Hotkey [Alt] + [X] (Set icon name und search for a Layer name.)
  • Selects desktop icon (After al layer is activated)
  • The registry entries are imported/exported with the layer.

In what OS has this been tested?

I just wondered if you have tested on different OSs such as Windows versions and Mac.

Thanks!
