Installed vs. Used Report for the real world

Have you ever wanted more from your Installed vs. Used report? How about the ability to separate the report to show Standard or Professional version of Microsoft applications?

  1. First thing to do is create a collection for every version of Microsoft products in your environment. Build each collection using Inv_AeX_OS_Add_Remove_Programs as your filter for each collection and choose the software for the value.
  2. Download this report Installed vs. Used by Collection.
  3. Run the report based on each collection you created and now you can really see what is being used per version.

Nice report

Nice report bkaulins.  One tip for you...when you're checking GUID or ResourceGuid columns (really any column with a type of UniqueIdentifier) is that you don't need to use LOWER(Guid); even if some of them have capital letters and others have mixed or lower-case, it still works.

I don't suppose you would export your MS collections for this so people don't have to create their own (it's fun and all...but time consuming! :) ).
