This is an easy to configure bash script to install the Linux DS Agent in your environment.

The bash script is very easy to use and understand. Please download the bash script and open with a text editor (gedit if you have it) for instructions. We designed this script on a X86 Ubuntu 7.10 OS. I am not stating that it will work with any other OS but it might be worth a shot!

Good luck and if you have any questions, you can find me at www.altiriswire.com

I would like to give credit to caleywoods for help with the scripting, Andrew for help with the testing and jjesse for his Ubuntu agent install instruction sheet. Thank you all!

Tried to submit this earlier but the page timed out for me.

Great job on the script. Awesome to see more people using Ubuntu. Remember Altiris does not officially support Ubuntu, however I hope with more people posting things like this we could get official support

Great job again,

Jonathan

PS: If anyone from Altiris is interested I personally know the commericial packagers for Ubuntu that would love to Altiris officially supported.
