In ITMS 7.1 there are 2 reports that can be used to view installed software. If you navigate to Reports->Discovery and Inventory->Inventory->Cross-platform->Software/Applications->Software you will see these reports: Installed Software and Installed Software by Computer. I have optimized the SQL used in these reports and the time to run these was lowered from several minutes to just a few seconds.
To import these, simply right click on the Software folder and choose Import. These will overwrite existing reports so it would be a good idea to export the current reports to have as backups, in the rare case there is a failure of some sort.
Is it posible to add site name (where system belog's to) ... If yes please let me know it will be of great use..
Good one Helped a Lot Thanks
These optimized reports were included in ITMS 7.1 SP2, which shipped last December.
We have 2000+ agents reporting and those reports never run. Your updates work great!
Do you know if these are going to be part of a futeure Service Pack?
Thank you,
Eugenio
John, you are very welcome! My Patch days are behind me but never forgotten! :)
This is wonderful! With only about 4,000 clients in my SMP 7.1 environment, the original "Installed Software" report never completed (due to timeouts). I then ran the SQL in SQL Server Management Studio to avoid the SMP timeouts and, after over an hour, gave up. This one completed in 5 seconds in SSMS and also ran great from the Console. Amazing.
I too noticed the dupes but will be playing around with the SQL to hopefully get DISTINCT to work.
Thanks Andrew! You helped me at Symantec Vision 2009 with some patch management issues I was having with my NS6 environment and you've done it again. Great work.

Nice contribution.....
I agree, report runs MUCH better but I do see some duplicates. It's definitely better than no data at all but I'd like to know if there is a resolution to the duplicate entries.
Hi, Im using your reports, work pretty well but I notice that in certain items (microsoft ones in my case) are reported as dupplicated. (Image Attached).
Do you have any workaround for this?
Thanks!
excellent contribution
