This download of tg3.ko is for anyone using the DS6.8SP2 to DS6.9SP2 Linux automation environments (which use the 2.6.18.8 kernel).
This has support for the NetXtreme Ethernet controllers: 5700, 5701, 5703, 5704, 5714, 5715, 5721, 5722, 5780 The driver version is 3.105h, and might help you if your current driver is giving CIFS problem.

I've been looking for this driver for the last week and spent the last 2 days attempting to compile my own with no luck. Logged in and found this post by you. As is the case with everything you've posted, this worked perfectly for me.
We're running DS 6.9 (no service packs) with the 2.6.18.8 kernel.
This driver resolved our PXE issue for the Dell Optiplex 380 we are deploying.
