Mozilla Thunderbird 2.x Virtual Software Package
Mozilla Thunderbird is an easy-to-use, open source e-mail client that offers the same extensibility and security that Firefox is known for. Get details on Thunderbird features and enhancements in the 2.x version here.
Try Thunderbird now, virtually! Don't like it? Just deactivate and delete.
Even if you decide on Thunderbird as your permanent e-mail client, keep it virtualized! Thunderbird already does a lot to ensure that you stay safe on the Web. But sometimes the unexpected happens. Spam get through with undesired results? Machine getting slow? Things showing up that you know shouldn’t be there? With virtualized Thunderbird, you can quickly put things back to their original state by resetting the Thunderbird virtual layer. Any changes made to your machine from within Thunderbird will be un-done, like you’d never been on the Net! Just “Reset”!
Thunderbird is provided by Symantec in the .VRA ("Virtual Runtime Archive") format. Now anyone can use virtualized Thunderbird permanently, even if you are a business that has not yet purchased SVS! If SVS is installed without a license key, it defaults to "runtime mode," which allows use of VRAs. Licensed SVS installations, of course, have full functionality and can also use VRAs.
Did you know that HP business desktops come with SVS Runtime pre-installed?

Configuration Notes
- The desktop and My Documents are excluded, which means data saved to these locations is not virtualized. If you save an attachment and want to ensure that it stays persistent on your machine after a reset of Thunderbird, save it to one of these locations. For more information on how to keep data separate from virtual application layers, please read this article.
- By default, this version of Thunderbird will see and use your existing Thunderbird profile if you have one. However, changes to that profile will stay contained within the Thunderbird virtual layer. So rolling back is as simple as deactivating (or resetting) the layer.
