MS Exchange Monitor Pack Updated Sept 2009

Hi All,

This Monitor Pack has been updated to include the following measurements:

  • Exchange Information Store service Queue of Messages to MTA > 50
  • SMTP: Local Retry Queue > 50
  • SMTP: Messages Pending Routing > 50
  • Mailbox Store: Receive Queue > 25
  • Information Store Transport Temp Table Entries > 600
  • MTA Queue Length per Connection > 50
  • MTA Queue Length per Connection > 50
  • SMTP: Remote Queue > 500
  • MSExchangeIS:RPC latency > 200 ms
  • MSExchangeIS: VM Largest Block Size > 32
  • MSExchangeIS: VM Total 16MB Free Blocks < 3
  • Average CPU > 90% for 15 minutes

MS Exchange Monitor Pack

Hello All,

I would like to get feedback on the SQL, SharePoint and Exchange Monitor Packs that have been posted.  If anyone is using them please post your comments here.  if you have any requests to add additional Rules also please make sure to request them.

Note on this Exchange Pack  has a rule which is incorrect and needs to be updated.  This rule will be corrected shortly with an update to the MS Exchange Pack.

The following Rule Evaluation Value is incorrect and it states the value 32.  This rule should be change to be 150MB instead of 32MB and the correct Evaluation Value in this case would be 150000000 which is in Bytes.

MSExchangeIS: VM Largest Block Size > 32

Again i would like to hear your feedback and any comments you have on these Packs.

The following Rule has now been updated and evaluation value has been corrected:

MSExchangeIS: VM Largest Block Size > 32

is now:

MSExchangeIS: VM Largest Block Size > 150MB

 Joseph,

Are these packs for SMS 7? If not, where can I find the downloads for Exchange/SQL Monitor Pack for SMS 7?

Hi dfnkt_,

Yes these Packs are add ons for SMS 7.  They can easily be imported into Monitor Solution v7, rolled out, edited or cloned to use with Server Management Suite.  Please note they are not the same Packs available in 6.x and these packs are completely new.

If anyone has used the packs and have any feedback or requests please let me know.
