Script to Enable Hibernate Option in Windows XP
Manually enabling Hibernation option on Windows XP machines:
Control Panel --> Power Options --> Hibernate --> Check "Enable Hibernation"
However, you need enough free disk space to hold all of your memory in a single file. The free disk space on root drive should be equivalant to size of RAM.
Attached script will automate the above process. You can run this script as a Software Delivery task.
Good luck.

Nice tip but
This is a nice tip, but the hibernation takes up to 8% of the resources of the computer.
It will slow down your pc simply to much to be really helpfull.

Hibernation
There are many reasons one might want to have hibernation:
1) Its the GREEN thing to do it saves energy
2) Time to boot portable users use hibernation to save time, when they have several things open they can simple close thier tablets / laptops and if you have hibernattion set to go on after a few hours they can boot the pc back up right were they left off.
Hibernation has changed over the years to a toool that actually works and save money and time.
Handy Script
This is a very handy script. Its very good for a larger environments to have a huge amount of power savings and etc.,
Thanks
just in time
Well, I just re-imaged an entire mobile lab at the school I work at to enable hibernation while the notebooks charge in their cart, but the re-imaging process is rather burdensome. Now the other two labs I have to do this with will be much easier to finish. Thanks
I'm glad
