The only really reliable way to check whether you need to redo the .vsa for Java x64 is to test it on your build using your developed package. After all, there are many ways to configure the Java runtime to do things such as turning off autoupdate, etc, so it would be impossible to give you a carte blanche guarantee that your particular configuration and build are going to work together.
