Backup Exec 2010 R3 SP3 not recognizing RD1000 as a drive

Created: 11 DEC 2013 | 3 comments

Backup Exec 2010 R3 was uninstalled. I reinstalled backup exec 2010 r3. I setup a backup to disk folder on the RD1000 drive. I did a test run of the backup and the byte count was 290 GB. When running the backup it was stuck over 300GB  asking us to insert another disk. We only used one 320GB disk each time before the uninstall. What should I look at? Should the rd1000 be showing up under devices on my server or am I really backing up more than 290GB when the test run only says 290 GB? Any help is greatly appreciated. Let me know if anyone needs to know any other info. Thanks

The following document on setting up the RD1000 might be helpful for troubleshooting http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH137910

also make sure Backup Exec is fully patched with Live Updates as there have been several relevant hotfixes released.

I made some changes to the backup. I will follow up tomorrow with the results. Thank you!

Did you create a Removable B2D folder on your RD1000 or a normal B2D folder?  If it is the latter, then you should delete it and use a Removable B2D folder.
