Email alerts in plain text format for Backup Exec 2012

I was getting email alerts in plain text format in previous Backup exec versions.

I am getting them in HTML format in Backup Exec 2012.

Is it possible to send the email alerts in plain text format in BE2012? I only see an option to change the format of job log. My ticketing system does not support converting emails in HTML format to tickets.

Thanks for the update. However is you or anyone else aware if there is already an option to do this? I was not able to find it myself. If not I will go ahead and add it as an idea.

I have a similar issue. Just upgraded from BE 12.5 to 2010.

Using SMTP to email works fine but sending a message alert now fails.

Reason being that the message is in html and cannot be converted to text by the message provider.

So settings to allow emails/messages to be configured as text or html is necessary.

The link flagged as solution gets me to the Ideas page.

How can that be a solution? Do I misunderstand something here?

Searched through the ideas but cannot find it.

...if the OP hasn't added it in as a solution, then I would suggest you do this.

Also make sure that SP3 for BE 2010 R3 has been installed...may/may not be fixed there.

May be...check the release notes below:

You would be told to upgrade to SP2 (can't uninstall it!) anyway if you logged a call with Symantec.

You can change the setting to send in PLAIN text:
Click Backup Exec ICON in top left corner
Configuration and Setting
Backup Exec Settings
Click Job Logs on the left and on the right you will see "email job log attachments" and can choose the format.
