The 7th User Group Challenge will be held on Tuesday, May 8 at 7:00 pm in the Partner Expo Hall at the MGM Grand.
Important Details / FAQ:
1. What are the prizes?
- Poker chips! Exchange for cash or “donate” them back to the casino!
2. When & Where?
- Tuesday, May 8 in the Partner Expo Hall
Please arrive by 6:30 pm. The event will start at 7:00 pm (Vegas time)
3. What are the five events in the qualifying round?
4. Do I need to be an expert on Symantec products?
- Of course. However, that knowledge will not help you in the User Group Challenge!
5. Which User Groups have qualified for the User Group Challenge (3 members of the User Group registered)?
- Cincinnati Backup & Archiving
- Columbus Endpoint Management (2008 and 2009 Champions)
- Houston Endpoint Management
- Kansas City Endpoint Management (2010 Champions)
- Michigan Endpoint Management
- Michigan Security & Compliance
- Midwest DLP
- Philadelpia Endpoint Management
- Sacramento Endpoint Management
- San Diego Endpoint Management
- Twin Cities Endpoint Management (2011 Champions)
6. Is it too late to sign-up?
No. These User Groups need just one more person to sign-up to qualify:
- Atlanta Backup & Archiving
- Baltimore Endpoint Management
- Louisville Endpoint Management
- New York DLP
- St. Louis Endpoint Management (2010 2nd place)
- Wisconsin Endpoint Management
7. What if my User Group doesn't have at least 3 people sign-up? Can I still participate?
- Yes! Please arrive by 6:30 pm on Tuesday night and we will work out the teams.

I am looking forward to a great challenge this year. Good thing that Mike can't legally compete in the User Group Challenge since he works for a consulting company. Darn.

Let's look at this logically. The KC group won in 2010 and I was on their team. In 2011, they didn't win, and I wasn't there. Now 2011, they are qualified and I AM on their team again. If you extrapolate that logic to it's eventual conclusion.....all you other user groups may as well NOT show up....:)

When is the draft scheduled for new recruits or unsigned free agents? Shockingly, I'm still available.
This is a great question...if your User Group doesn't officially qualify (3 members sign-up), you can still participate in the User Group Challenge. Please be there by 6:30 pm and we will make sure you are on a team.
