Join us for our next Altiris New York User Group meeting on Wednesday, September 16 at the New York Times from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm. 

The most requested topic from our last meeting was software packaging. As a result, we have arranged for a packaging expert from Eden Technologies to present to us. 

We are also very excited to announce a member of the Symantec Product Management team will join us for this meeting! Hugo Parra will provide an update on Client Management Suite and Server Management Suite 7 with specific emphasis on DS 7.1, PXE, server support, Ghost integration, and key UI enhancements. 

Breakfast will be served! See you there!

Overview:

The Senior Manager IT Audit and Asset Management works in our Corporate Information Technology area, managing the general oversight of IT inventory management, vendor relationship management and IT controls.

 

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage the operations of the IT services procurement and inventory/asset management function for Canon USA, Inc.
  • Manage the relationship with contract staff vendors and IT management, maintaining records of use of contracted services and focusing on cost negotiation.
  • Support internal control policies in a wide variety of IT processes and supervise the assessment and resulting exposure resulting from ineffective or missing practices.
  • Manage the maintenance of records and databases containing information regarding licenses, warranties, and service agreements for the organization's hardware and software.
  • Supervise a team of data and service call administrators, tracking quality throughout the product lifetime.
  • Minimize organizational cost through product standardization and tracking.

 

Qualifications:

Requires a Bachelor's degree and at least 9 years of experience in the IT field or in a related area. Minimum of 2 years prior supervisory experience in IT or closely related discipline preferred.  Prior experience supervising IT vendor relations required.  The successful candidate will also demonstrate the ability to provide management reporting and regular feedback on metrics related to asset tracking, budget controls, and IT controls and processes. 

Working knowledge of system management software is preferred, specifically:

  • Altiris
    • Asset Management Suite
    • Client Management Suite
    • Deployment Server
    • WISE Studio
    • Helpdesk / Service Desk 7
    • Symantec Workflow Solution
    •  

The ideal candidate will have related work experience in a large corporate environment.
