Location:
Partner Expo | Symantec Vision
Time:
Tue, 16 April, 2013 - 18:30 - 19:30 PDT Vision is right around the corner, so it’s time to start getting ready for the 8th annual User Group Challenge. This year’s competition is based off of the game show Minute to Win It, and will reveal which User Group can think fast under pressure, work together as a team, and since we’ll be in Las Vegas has a little luck on its side.
If you haven’t registered for Vision yet, remember to use the User Group promo code V13UGD to get $200 off the going conference rate.
Important Details:
- What are the prizes?
- Poker chips! Exchange for cash or “donate” them back to the casino!
- Where and When?
- Partner Expo Hall from 6:45-7:30 PDT, please arrive by 6:30 p.m. to sign in.
- Do I need to be an expert on Symantec products?
- Of course. However, that knowledge will not help you in the User Group Challenge!
- How many people from my User Group do we need to participate?
- Teams must consist of at least 2 people to participate, but don’t worry if your User Group doesn’t have enough people for a team. If you want to participate, we’ll make sure you get assigned to a team.
Visit this page regularly for updates on this year’s User Group Challenge. If you have any questions please email Jon Eyre. We look forward to seeing you in Vegas and may the best User Group win!

Hey everybody, based on the games we will be playing this year at the User Group Challenge, you now only need two people to make up a team in the challenge. There's a little over a week until the Challenge. We look forward to seeing all of you there. I will be sending an update later this week to let you know which teams have qualified. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me at jon_eyre@symantec.com
Just wanted to give everyone a quick update. We currently have five teams that have the minimum number of participants to compete in the Challenge:
Cincinnati Backup & Archiving
Kansas City Endpoint Management
Louisville Endpoint Management
Michigan Endpoint Management
San Diego Endpoint Management
Just a reminder, teams need a minimum of two to compete in the challenge, but don't worry if your group doesn't have enough people, we'll make sure you get you assigned to a team. Please reach out to other people in your group and help us spread the word.
JUMP ON IT!
Thanks to everyone who participated at the User Group Challenge last night. I wanted to recognize the winners from the Kansas City Endpoint Management Group who earned a hard fought victory. Coming in second was the team from Iowa. There was a tie for third place between Twin Cities Endpoint and Louisville Endpoint. Below is a list of the winners. Please let me know if I missed anybody:
We look forward to seeing all of you again in Las Vegas next year, so start training!
Congrats KC (with a little help from the STL).
It's probably because your EMM guys out here are awesome - ouch I think I just pulled something patting myself on the back.
I can't wait to hear how Ziggy put you all on his back and carried you to victory :-)
See you soon !

Sorry I couldn't be there for you Mark W! Would be funny to see Ziggy carrying you on his back!
Thanks,
