Hi,
Backup job has been failed due to "0xe0001904 - A failure occurred querying the Writer status" error.
A review of the event logs on the Exchange server at the time of the failure reports:

As per article - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/930800
I have restarted the Exchange server. But still i have received the above event id' even after server reboot.
All the VSS writers are in stable state now.
Server OS = windows 2008

If AOFO is explicitly enabled in the backup job properties, disable it. Ensure the backup is not conflicting with the exchange maintenance schedule either.
Lastly, try this KB as well ~ http://support.microsoft.com/kb/930800
Issue this command in a command prompt.
vssadmin list writer
If there are any writers that have errors, you need to restart the server to clear the errors.
Thanks for the reply......
All the VSS writers are in stable state....
Now i have reselected the Exchange resources from backup job selection list..and manually fired the backup job which is now in running state having increasing byte counts..
I will update you the status...once backup job get completed...
Thanks.
