This issue has been solved. See solution.

Dear Team,

I am going to upgrade the Server from 11.7 mp1 to 12.1 ru2 because it is compatible for Windows 8. Is it directly upgraded or any other installation?

Yes you can able to upgraded in 12.1 RU2 from any of the 11.x version.

Yes, you could easily Migrate your SEP 11.0.7 MP1 to 12.1 RU2

Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.2 (RU2) can upgrade seamlessly over the following:

  • Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.1101.401 (RU1 MP1)
  • Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.1000.157 (RU1)
  • Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.671.4971 (RTM)
  • Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.x (can be upgraded to enterprise version only)
  • Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition 12.0

Hi

Yes you can directly upgrade from SEP 11x to SEP 12.1 RU2.

Note: When you are upgrading clients restart is mandatory.

Hi

You can upgraded directly from 11.7 mp1 to 12.1 ru2. But i preffered you that firstly try it on test enviornment before install on production.

Take the backup of DB before upgradation.
