What's the word releasing a 12-31-2009 virus definition patch for Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition 12?  All I see are patches for SEP 11.

Symantec is releasing a patch that will resolve this issue for Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition 12 users.

This patch is available via Public LiveUpdate or LiveUpdate, Administrator and LiveUpdate Administration Utility. It can also be downloaded directly from the Symantec FTP server.

The patch is being rolled out one release at a time - as new releases are added, the patch is being updated in-place.

This document will be updated as soon as new builds are added to the patch

I emailed Paul Murgatroyd about this, asking him to update https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/official-status-sepm-definitions-stay-31-12-2009-last-updated-04-jan-2010 with info about SEPSBEv12.

I just installed a new install of SEPSBE 12.0.101.95 at a client on Tuesday, 2010-01-19.  The SPC console has:

    Latest from Symantec: Jan 21 2010 r5
    Latest on Manager: Dec 31 2009 r144

The clients are reporting 2010-01-20 rev. 040

    Hi all

The patches should appear on LiveUpdate shortly - they have been posted, and are just replicating now.

This patch will be update via Live Udpate so as an end user you do not have to do anything. You will notice that the management server will start showing 2010 dates..

To verify whether the server has downloaded the updates, look for the following registry keys on the management server.

    SEP SBE 12.0
    32-bit system
    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\SPC\PatchSequence

    SEP SBE 12.0 64-bit system
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\SPC\PatchSequence

In case the management server does not update and you are unable to locate the registry key, you can see log information in the following file to troubleshoot.
    %temp%\SEPMDefUpdater.log

    Hope that helps.

    Nimesh.
