  • 1.  12.1 Managed Client Scan Progress

    I am in the process of upgrading from Endpoint Protection 11.6 to 12.1. I have already upgraded my SEPM server. In Endpoint Protection 11, the client would show a scan in progress on the Status page. With Endpoint Protection 12.1, there is no scan progress indicator. Is there a way to make it appear on the client as it did in version 11?

    To configure scan progress options for administrator-defined scans

    1 In the console, open a Virus and Spyware Protection policy and click

    Administrator-defined Scans.

    2 Onthe Advanced tab, under ScanProgressOptions, click Showscanprogress

    or Show scan progress if risk detected.

    3 To automatically close the scan progress indicator after the scan completes,

    check Close the scan progress window when done.

    4 Check Allow user to stop scan.

     

     

     

    5 Click Pause Options.

    6 In the Scan Pause Options dialog box, do any of the following actions:

    To limit the time that a user may pause a scan, check Limit the time the

    scan may be paused, and then type a number of minutes. The range is 3

    to 180.

    To limit the number of times a user may delay (or snooze) a scan, in the

    Maximumnumber of snooze opportunities box, type a number between

    1 and 8.

    By default, a user can delay a scan for 1 hour. To change this limit to 3

    hours, check Allow users to snooze the scan for 3 hours.

    7 Click OK.

    i think he is talking about the running bar on the GUI, not the separate window. may be i am confused.

    Correct, I should have been clearer in my original post. I am asking about how to display the running bar on the GUI.

    Since you are talking about "How to display the running bar on the GUI.",

    As per the conversation in the Thread above, it clearly states that in SEP 12.1, running scan bar on the GUI is not available.

    Had similar issue on my Windows Server clients.  Under 11.x I could see the progress bar, in the SMC GUI, in an RDP session. 

    With newer 12.x clients I could no longer see the progress bar, for scheduled scans, under and RDP session.  Connect into the server console and the progress bar does show, and I'm able to pause/stop the scheduled scan.
