12.1.2 for window8.1

This issue has been solved. See solution.

I have newly prepare the window8.1 laptop for the user which is only pending for the symantec endpoint client, i am using sep 12.1.2, can i install sep 12.1.2 version?

for 8.1 go with 12.1.4 version , thats the latest and that is what supported

Note: Windows 8.1 is only supported with Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 RU4 and later.

Hello,

 

SEP 12.1 Ru2 will not support Windows 8.1. Windows 8.1 is supported on the SEP latest version 12.1 RU4 MP1 and SEP support for windows 8 starts on SEP 12.1 RU3. You can also check the system requirements of other version of SEP on this links.

No 12.1 ru2 is not compatible version. You can upgrade in 12.1 ru4 mp1, it is latest one

Edit

if you have single of Window 8.1 client then you can download the client package from file connect.

File Connect Site - https://symantec.flexnetoperations.com

After install the client, repace the sylink file with sepm to communicate with sepm of that client.

Symantec Endpoint Protection 12 RU4 MP1 is released. This build's version is: 12.1.4100.4126

Expanded operating system support from this release:

  • The Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) client is now supported on Windows To Go (Windows 8.1 Enterprise).
  • Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM), the SEP client, and the Symantec Network Access Control client are now supported on Windows 8.1 Update 1.
  • SEPM, the SEP client, and the Symantec Network Access Control client are now supported on Windows Server 2012 R2 Update 1

Note: If in case you do not see the SEP 12 RU4 MP1 Release on flexnet, you may see the same in coming few days on your Fileconnect Account.

First supported version is 12.1.4

About Windows 8 and Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1

Latest version is 12.1.4.1 so go with that

SEP 12.1.4.1a is now release, you can download it from file connect

It fixed Heartbleed OpenSSL vulnerability.
