  • 1.  2 reboots needed when upgrading to RU6a?

Has anyone had the chance to test adding the Install package to upgrade clients to RU6a in SEPM?

I upgraded my SEPM to RU6a. To get my clients (11.0.5) on RU6a, I added an install package to a test group. The package pushed down and upgraded the clients to RU6a. All looks fine and my SEPM notes that these machine need to be rebooted.

So I rebooted them and NTP goes missing. SEPM still tells me that they need to be rebooted. I reboot again and NTP comes back. So are two reboots required now after upgrading clients to RU6a?

Just had one machine that I rebooted 4 times before NTP came back

Not from my experience; only 1 has been required. Are you choosing to 'maintain existing features' when updating or selecting a different feature set from the drop-down menu?

    I'm choosing "maintain existing features"

The logs showed "failed to install teefer driver" but went away after fourth reboot.

I found a KB article on it about editing the registry but it wasn't necessary as it didn't apply to me

Hi Brian, I just tried on my test machine and it worked it one re boot , it just may be a co incidence.
Try it on any other machine to see if it happens again or not.

If it happens again , call support and log a case with us so that it can be taken on a high priority if that is the case.
