  • 1.  3com boot tftp read timeout

    I configured my .pxe and the .sys.  I started both the tftp and pxe server.  On machineA, i turned it on and did a boot from network and I get this message on my tftp server status:

    3/15/07 10:39 AM - TFTP Read C:\TFTPBOOT\deploy.pxe from 10.203.xxx.xx
    3/15/07 10:39 AM - TFTP Read C:\TFTPBOOT\deploy.pxe from 10.203.xxx.xx
    3/15/07 10:39 AM - TFTP Read C:\TFTPBOOT\deploy.pxe from 10.203.xxx.xx Done
    3/15/07 10:39 AM - TFTP Read C:\TFTPBOOT\deploy.pxe from 10.203.xxx.xx Timeout

    On machineA, it get this message:

    PXE Menu Boot File v1.10,
    Transferring image file..

    Then it get's stuck.  Help me!!  MachineA is a dell optiplex 740.

    I answered the previous post without seen this - seems you have sort out the initial setup issues. Setup seems to be OK but I just had a look at my TFTP log, which has a different format (it's the same version).
     
    PXE server has applications and services. Do you run the application or the service? What options you have selected in control panel in case if you use the service?
     
    Could you boot any other machine (otehr than dell 740) and see if it is working to eliminate machine specific issues?
     
    Other possibility is something like a firewall or a router is blocking the data transfer. Could you check that too?
