3com NIC driver problems with Altiris WinPE 2.1

We've been trying to get the Dell Optiplex GX150 model computers to work with our WinPE boot disk/partition, but haven't had any success. The NIC driver doesn't load properly and devcon shows a device error. We've tried downloading the drivers from multiple sources, and get the same results. We even tried downloading DOS drivers, manually adding drivers to the PE image, and manually installing the drivers while inside the WinPE environment. We know the network card works and the data line is active because we can use it just fine in Windows XP. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The computer uses a 3Com 3C905C NIC. We're using WinPE 2.1.

Sounds like the nic has issues period

This one is using is ataleast working with ghost, but I seem to recall reading somewhere there was a PATCH from MS that some the generic drivers in PE with some 3com nics had issues.
