    Hello Evryone,

Excuse me if there's any error, it's my 1st poste...

    Probleme:

After an upgrade of my manager, all clients lost connection to the server (No green dot)

as a solution : I expoted the comunication packages (Sylink.xml) from the group and i deployed it whit the script below (For Win7):

    **********************************************************

    echo on

    FOR /f %%I in (xxxxxxx.txt) do (xcopy "C:\SylinkDeploy\*.xml" "\\%%I\c$\ProgramData\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\12.1.3001.165.105\Data\Config\" /y)

    pause

    ***********************************************************

it seem that its working : tested on 4 clients

After receivint the sylink and rebooting the clients, the communication whit server is restored

Question  : does this solution cause any other probleme or should i continue whit this methode

    Thanks for your help :)

You can continue doing this. You can also do it from the SEPM but if this works for you then great :)

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Symantec community.

    What was the upgrade path?

I would suggest to repair the SEPM or at least restart the SEPM services.

If not helped post the SEP_Inst.log from 2-3 affected machines.

Replacing sylink.xml option is always there as a last resort.

    Thanks for your answers.

The push from the manager take a very long time and if you do it for more than 20 clients it never pass (I have more than 3000 clients :( ). and its not sure a 100%

I just wanted to be sure that my methode does not caus any other trouble...(for eache groupe i export his sylink)

    12.1.4a ==> 12.1.5

Then you can stick with your method :)

SEP package is huge , so that will take time, Sylink file is of KBs only, you need to change the concurrent pushes to 1000 , will happen in mins.

Whatever method you are comfortable with you can follow that. You script checks for 12.1.3 , if you are doing for 12.1.5, you need to change the version

    c$\ProgramData\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\12.1.3001.165.105\Data\Config\" /y)

Please check also how much disk space available in SEPM server.

No need for changing the path (for any version):

    For Seven and Server 2008

    c$\ProgramData\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\CurrentVersion\Data\Config

    For XP and Server 2003

    c$\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\CurrentVersion\Data\Config\

    The methode seems working fine.

Thank you all for your Help :)

All what is critical is what was said: "After an upgrade of my manager, all clients lost connection to the server (No green dot)" STEP 2 is critical to ensuring reconnectivity:

Upgrade or migrate to Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.5 and Disaster recovery best practices for Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.

    Please advise.
