  • 1.  64bit clients definition file not updating

    the 32bit clients are updating fine with the new antivirus definition file but the 64bit clients are not.
    The 64bit clients are running savwin64 and are within their own group we call 64 bit clients.
    The xdb file is dropped into the correct directory on the server.  Does the xdb file work for 64bit clients or is there something else we need to do?

    It should work. Delete or move the older xdb files. And make sure the latest file isn't corrupted.
    You might also want to check the settings for the 64-bit clients. It usually checks for any changes every 10 minutes.

    There were problems with this happening on older versions of SEP 11. Make sure to upgrade to the latest version. Just thought I would throw this in, mon_raralio's idea of checking to make sure the latest file isn't corrupt is a good idea.

    endpoint doesnot use xdb files. and for 64 bit clients set a policy to get defs from symantec live update servers. not the manager . it works well
