7.1 SP2 Software Portal Email Notifications

I am not seeing any email notifications from the software portal. Has anyone else had this problem? I have groups and users in the Software portal admin and manager roles. However still no emails.

Did you specify your notification preferences to include e-mail to your e-mail address?

Do other e-mails work fine from the NS, including to your e-mail address?

Have you checked your Junk E-mail folder and/or your spam solutions?

Yes the profiles are configured with emails and the two notification check boxes are checked. Other emails work fine. Nothing going into junk mail.

Software Portal ignores the NS Email settings and doesn't pass the authentication for exchange. Our exchange environment required authentication to send messages. This works fine with all the other email notifications, however it ignores it for the software portal notification tasks.

issue? Did you fix it on the Exchange side or Altiris? Our email is hosted on the Microsoft Exchange cloud online...

We had to add the NS server to the allowed sender list in Exchange so authentication wasn't required. Not sure if thats possible with exchange in the cloud.

I'm thinking our issues are a bit different. When I do a software request on the software portal I get the admin and user email but not when anyone else submits a request. I put another post out ot see if anyone has any ideas on this one.

My behavior is following:

- if you have not checked email notification in your software portal profile no email is delivered even though you check email notification checkboxes in the individual software request dialog.

- if you have checked email notification in the profile the email is delivered immediately you request the software
