I have an issue where SEP client insalled on most but not all of servers when I did an upgrade.  In most cases i was able to add/remove programs and then push it as a new installation of SEP howerver I have a couple servers left that will not accept an install from the manager.  I have tried running cleanWipe to insure there are no fragments but i recieve the error that it has detected 12.1.5337.5000 that is higher that 12.1.410.4126.  I am also able to install SEP as an unmangaed client but still not as a client managed from end point protection manager.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Post the SEP_INST.log and SIS_INST.log files from %temp% directory from a failed install:

What logs do I need to gather in order to troubleshoot a failed SEP 12.1 client installation?

    Per the log:

"To install a managed client, the administrator must create a managed client installation package and then deploy the package. To create and deploy a package, use the Client Installation Wizard in the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager. The Symantec Endpoint Protection Client installation will be cancelled.

Did you try to create an install package and run locally to see what happens? Cleanwipe should've remove this, are you sure it's the latest for 12.1.5? If not, it will fail to remove SEP.

I did create an install package and deply the package from endpoint manager, that is what worked on the rest of the servers but has failed to do so on just a couple servers.  I only attempted the local install after it failed to push the install from the manager after a coupleof days.  I have what i believe is the higest level avaliable but perhaps not.

seems like you were trying to install an managed client from Setup.exe ( downloaded from CD1)

create one from manager and try to install and it if fails post a new sep_inst.log file\

How To: Create an unmanaged client install package from the SEPM with custom policies.
