  • 1.  Ability to lock all settings so users cant change them

    Posted Oct 17, 2011 05:26 PM

I would like to see a single click option to lock out all settings from users being able to change them. At this point I had to go through and click about 80? little lock icons to achieve this.

This way, you've reversed the process, now I lock everything, but can go back and say: However I would like users to be able to adjust this and that. Also at the point where you do a full lockdown, it would be nice to get a popup that has suggestions about what to leave unlocked. ( what you would like to have users be able to change ).

    Thanks

I would recommend submitting a enhancement request for the possibility of encorporating this into a future product release. Below is documentation on this process.

    To password-protect the client

    1. In the console, click Clients.

    2. Under Clients, select the group for which you want to set up password protection.

    3. On the Policies tab, under Location-independent Policies and Settings, click General Settings.

    4. Click Security Settings.

    5. On the Security Settings tab, choose any of the following check boxes:

      • Require a password to open the client user interface

      • Require a password to stop the client service

      •  Require a password to import or export a policy

      • Require a password to uninstall the client

    6. In the Password text box, type the password.

The password is limited to 15 characters or less.

    7. In the Confirm password text box, type the password again.

    8. Click OK.
