    Hi all,

As I known, DLP can monitor popular IM protocols (AIM, Yahoo, MSN, IRC) and properly classify tunneled IM traffic (HTTP).

Pls suggest a way to test this feature.

    Thanks.

    Best Regards,
    Sunny

First you will need to setup a Network Monitor DLP device at the perimeter where you will see web traffic.  The next thing will be to create a test policy.  After that, just setup an IM client and send something through it that violates the test policy.

    Hi all,

Already setup a testing environment and saw web traffic. If using IM client, we already tested successfully.

On another way, if using web IM application (such as EBuddy, Web ICQ), how can I test it? and pls provide me the steps.

    Thanks.

    Best Regards,
    Sunny

If they are just standard web pages posts it should work the same as regular web traffic.  Although I have not specifically tested due to the fact that we block all know chat sites through our URl filtering program.
