Abort Message

Created: 09 Feb 2013 | 2 comments

Hi,

I have a SNMP board into a UPS that send e-mail when need send information of an event.

In the board, I set the IP SMTP server, the mail from, and mail to. When the board creates the mail completes the Subject and Body  fields.

The mails sended from the board, are showed in the window Message Audit logs with the columns "to" and "original subject" with the text "None" and with "aborting Message" in the Action column.

We tested the board mails with another SMTP servers, and they are received wheel for tarjets.

Are there any settings in Symantec Messaging Gatewaty can delete some mail fields? In that case, what are the possible causes for this to happen ?

Thank you in advance and sorry for my poor english

Omar

The Abort Message means that the message either timed out or the sending server abruptly dropped the connection. You might want to perform a packet capture to determine why the smtp conversation was broken.

Thank you Davis. I perform the capture to see this.

The strange thing is that with other SMTP servers no problem. Is the issue maybe for some character to send the board not to interpret the Symantec Gateway ?

Thank ypu again !
