    Hello All,

I would like to know a detailed information on the below:

Assuming a computer that runs a host OS, a VMware workstation installed on the host and a virtual machine setup,

The files on both the host OS and the virtual machines are being saved on the same harddrive. So, when SEP client on the Host runs a scan, it would scan all the files on the harddrive which includes even the files on the virtual machine's OS, right?

If the answer to the above is a Yes, there is no need to install a SEP client on the virtual machine?

If the answer is No, could you please justify the same?

Also, I have always observed the definitions update (the installation process of LU updates) on the virtual machine client takes longer time that it happens on the host OS, may I know why is this so?

All responses to the above questions are highly appreciated and thanks in advance!

    Regards,

    Elango M.

    Hi,

I believe these would be vmdk files, the actual files will not be there on the host machine. Hence it is required to have SEP client on the VM machine as well.
