  • 1.  Access Denied after Upgrade to SP2

I've already seen a lot of the other entries for this problem, but their solutions haven't resolved my issue yet. I can access the SMC from the server, but not remotely. I've looked into permissions, but nothing has changed. As near as I can tell the server is not paused. Remote connections are being denied, and agents can't connect either.

Yes, I did watch the upgrade movie online, read the release notes for the upgrade, and did the Best Practices upgrade according to this document:

    http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH177513

None of these solutions helped my issue either:

    https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/access-error-web-console-upgraded-tp-71-sp2

    https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/access-denied-message-ns-71-sp2-console-symantec-level2-worker-roles-user

I'm running a database repair from the SMC to see if that works. I believe it has been mentioned a few times for other issues.

Any other ideas for things to try?

Finally found an entry that helped...

    https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/401-unauthorized-access-denied-due-invalid-credentials-after-iisreset

Changing the application pool identities in IIS Admin did the trick.

Can clients connect to the server on port 80 (e.g. telnet myNSserver.companyname.com 80)?  It almost sounds like everything is being blocked.
