Symantec detects xpantivirus and the action says "access denied".

Anyone know why this is happening?

How do I get rid of this?

I am going to try the removal instructions for this detection, but that can become combersome if the user count gets too high.  Would like to know why symantec cannot just quarentine the infection.

As with any threat that is detected on a machine we recommend that you reboot the system into safe mode and launch the full scan from there. Sometimes a file can become locked in memory which makes it very difficult to remove in normal mode.

The following link explains the action messages.  http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-security.nsf/docid/2006112010562148

Symantec was actually working all along and it was my misunderstanding of the action messages that caused me to post this message.
