You just need IP and port, you can use a tool like razorsql to connect.

Not sure what you mean You just need the IP of where your DB sits.

Ok Brian. I have tried with razorsql and seeing below. I couldn't telnet into port 2638. My question now is, sem5 database will allow remote connection? if so any configuration required in server side.

ERROR: An error occurred while trying to make a connection to the

    database:

    JDBC URL:

    jdbc:sybase:Tds:<hostname>:2638?ServiceName=sem5

    JZ006: Caught IOException: java.net.ConnectException: Connection

    refused: connect

Not that I'm aware of. sem5 and using the correct credentials should get the connection.

Following entry is located in windows registry. I wonder if changing "localonly=no" will fix my issue. stop DB service, updating directly in registry &  start db service is the way to go?

    "C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\db\sem5.db" -n sem5 -sb 0 -x tcpip(localonly=yes;port=2638) -ti 720 -tl 600
