Hi,

If we install EV8 and archive users current Exchange 2003 mailboxes, can we migrate the users to Exchange 2010 and will they be able to access the archived mail?

I do understand that Exchange 2010 mailbox archiving is possible using EV8.

Thanks,
Anil.

Correct

It is not really the exchangeserver giving you the archived mails, it is the EV-client.
So, your users will be able to acces archived mail when their mailbox sits on 2010.
You will indeed not be able to archive with the current release (8.0) from 2010.
9 will allow you to archive from 2010. I believe it is exected may/june, but no official dates have been brought out.

Thank you, Gertjan

Exchange 2010 support

I've got this answer from PSG-EMERGING:

Symantec is a Microsoft partner that allows us access to their code prior to release. We have been developing Enterprise Vault code to be compatible with 2010 as it was developed.

Exchange 2010 support is scheduled for EV 8.0SP4\EV 9.0 (Q1 of 2010) , this is normally within 90 days of release of the final code for Exchange

Robert

Move Archive was expected in EV 8.0 RTM...
And guess what... it's not here yet.

I believe promised features when they are really released.
Do not count on "estimated release dates" or versions...

It's here when it's here. :)

 GertjanA you are correct EV9

GertjanA you are correct EV9 is expected Mid 2010 and it will have Exchange 2010 support

I also believe that EV8 SP 5 or SP6 may also have the support for Exchange 2010 once Exchange 2010 has been fully tested my Symantec engineering
