Feel incredibly stupid right now.  Really need some help.  We have a script based utility that I use at my job that can completely wipe out any Symantec Endpoint client or server installation.  I had thought I was running the utility on a client PC when in fact I didn't realize I had been running on a remote desktop session on the SEP Managment server.  I basically wiped the installation out but was able to keep the database intact.  Is there a formal way to reinstall the SEP Management console and also re-import the database with out having to rebuild the whole site?  Luckly I executed this stupid act during a week where no one is around so I have little bit of time to get the server back up and running normally.  Thank you!

    2. install new manger and use sylink drop to connect your old clients.

So far when I have tried installing SEPM RU6 MP2 it rolls back the installation and kicks the IIS service (World Wide Web Publishing Service) off.  Not sure if it's because the old extensions are still there or what.  Any ideas Rafeeq?

Are you trying to re-install using the Default Website?

Try wiping it out completely (removing IIS and reinstalling would be most adequate).

If not, try and use a "custom web site" when reinstalling.

Try installing the SEPM as normal.

Then from>start>run open the management server configuration wizard - fill in the details as necessary and select custom configuration, then when asked select sql or embedded db, and the next screen will give you the option to create new or use existing, then continue through the wizard.

Before hand i would also give my machine a thorough cleaning of a SEPM leftovers,

    Hope that helps,

Thanks for all your help.  We were able to restore the db and got the SEPM back up and running.
