I've seen a lot of discussion lately about the limitations of the new DAgent from version 6.9 SP1. Here's what i gathered from what i've read, and someone please correct me if i'm wrong here...

DAgent is now used on XP and replaces AClient
DAgent has limited support in remote control mode (as described in the release notes)

I have seen many posts out there that people are not using the Dagent and instead using AClient still... I will be upgrading this Friday and want to know that if I install the upgrade will DAgent be installed on all my clients? or will AClient just be updated?? If DAgent is installed, how do I switch back to use AClient.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

In my opinion, don't use DAgent, unless you have to (Vista).

As far as I know, if AClient is already installed, it will only try to update the AClient to the latest version of the AClient (6.9.355). When you attempt to do a "remote agent install", you can select an option to "Use AClient instead of DAgent on older OS computers (XP and 2003).

If DAgent is installed, you can uninstall it remotely and then push the AClient back to the client.

Good I was hoping it would be that way! I just didn't want it to install the DAgent, replacing the AClient automatically, then me having to go back and uninstall it, and reinstalling the updated AClient.

I don't have Vista so that is also good

From what I can tell, bhawver is correct. If AClient is installed it will upgrade AClient to the newest version when it connects to a 6.9 SP1 server.
I tried the newest DAgent on XP and it wouldn't even stay connected to the server. On Vista DAgent seems to run fine, at least for me.

I will join Anthony if you use XP remain with AClient. My DAgent on XP is 6.9.353 and does not remain connected

We have upgraded to DS 6.9 SP1. The Aclients have been upgarded to the newest Aclient version. We have XP and 2K in our environment. We are expiriencing issues with Dagent version 6.9.366 on our clients. In the mean time Dagent version 6.9.367 has been released. Please check AKB #44900. I would recommend stying with the Aclient when using only Windows XP clients.
