We have just installed Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition, and are managing it through the cloud.

One of our users received a popup window entitled "action required" and "threats detected".  (This window scared the person involved.)  Is there a way to supress the display of this sort of window?  I would rather that it either (1) just went ahead and took care of the problem without notifying the user, or (2) sent an email to me about the threat.  Are either of those things possible?

    Thanks!

In the AV policy on the Auto-Protect tab >> Notifications

    Uncheck both settings in there

I don't see an "auto-protect" tab.  (I'm looking after I log in to hostedendpoint.spn.com.)  Where is it?

    Thanks!

Disregard my post. I just noticed your on the cloud version so my post won't apply.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Symantec community.

I would be glad to answer your query.

If you think it's a false positive or know it's a legitimate application.

There are 2 solutions for stopping the detections:
A temporary solution is to add a program control exception for the program involved via policy within the portal as described in the "Removing Program Control Blocks" section of TECH214005.

A permanent solution is to submit the file to our false positive website for analysis and inclusion in the Global White-list of allowed software.

If you think it's a unknown threat, please submit it to the Security response team for further analysis.
