  • 1.  Active Scan scans an IP address?

    Posted Apr 07, 2009 06:26 AM

I'm trialling End Point Protection and I have noticed that when I run an Active Scan on any of my 3 clients, towards the end of the scan it appears to scan an IP address.

Does anyone know why it is doing this and what it is looking for? The address resolves to a static.theplanet.com name.
I haven't found anything in the documentation about this. The IP address doesn't exist in the registry or in the host file of the client.
    Thanks.

Risk Tracer might be scanning this IP.
Run netstat in command promt and check do you see this IP listening and established?

check the registry for BHO's (Browser Help Objects) and see if this site is there, if it is there then delete it from there.... also u can check from command prompt as mentioned above.

Hi, can you do a netstat? check if your pc is connecting to static.theplanet.com. Can you also post a HiJackThis Log here?
