  • 1.  AD Sync not Updating

I have a case open with Symantec regarding this, however I was wondering if anyone else has run into this. So we have AD Authentication, and only a few OU's in our domain are selected to be imported. Upon the first initial sync it seems everything comes over. Any additional update sync however does not update the AD groups listed in SD7. The sync is set to run every 4 hours, but even over a long weekend, it never finds the deltas. Any ideas, similar issues?

We have had a similar experience. We added another AD and it was able to import users the first time we established the connection but since then it will not update or connect.

Please post any findings - this is quite frustrating as it is not updating the users within groups who might be in different OU's.

Can you check your Sync Status (same place as starting a reset or update sync)
    Is is showing as "running"
And showing that it has been since the first sync?
If so, we have seen the same thing and no updates happen unless you hit update or reset manually....even if it is currently showing as running

Your AD Sync Status is still "Running"?

When completed, the status should looked like this.

You might like to consider setting your Process Manager Active Directory Settings > AD Sync Process Interval to a full 24hr? (1440 mins) just so the first sync completes before the next interval starts. Then you could adjust the frequency if necessary.

I remember having problems with AD Sync once where "Total AD Users To Be Synced' is always zero. For days we couldn't figure out anything because nothing has changed other than a server restart. We managed to kick start it again by filling in the account and password and that first update synch took over 2 hours to complete.

Found out that if you have the check box to "Sync only users" it hangs
Removed this and the issue went away.  Not sure if this solves the issue or not though for Twrangham

You saved me on that one. We are getting to sync 150 thousand users and that would of been loads of fun. Saved my day!
