Add firewall NTP to already installed clients of same version?

This issue has been solved. See solution.

We have a select group of RU5 clients that we need to add NTP to.  The clients are in an Active Directory controlled group.

I added an install package with AV and NTP, but it only seems to install the new package if the clients have MR4 and MR4 only.
It seems to ignore clients that already have RU5, but with only AV/AS, so we have to go to each machine and use add/remove programs to manually add the NTP instead of having the assigned installation package with AV/AS and NTP install automatically.

It also seems to ignore clients with MR2, so we then have to upgrade to MR4 manually, then wait for the package to upgrade MR4 to RU5.

Is there an easier way?

 Try exporting a package with

Try exporting a package with AV and NTP and select remove previous logs and settings ( in Client install settings ) then try deploying this package to the clients.
Even if NTP is install it will only show up when you have rebooted the computer.

I set the installation package to show a notification box when it is ready to install, so reboot should not be the issue becuase the install never started.
No notifcation warning you that installation is ready appears unless the client is MR4.

Hi, Did you reboot the

Hi,

Did you reboot the machines you are tryinh to upgrade?

That would determine if a pending reboot was the reason for the upgrade not to happen.

 Give it a try..

Create a test Group with NO package assigned.Move these clients to this test group-run command to update content.once all the clients start pointing to this group.
Move the clients back to the original group where you have assigned the package for AV and NTP.-run command on group-update content.

In my opinion, the deployment

In my opinion, the deployment methods through the SEP console are lacking in features here or there.  If you deploy other software and updates via other methods, you might want to deploy SEP that way as well (GP, SCCM, Alteris).  This helps you avoid situations like this.
