  • 1.  Adding replication partner ends in error JZ006...

    Posted Sep 15, 2009 09:16 AM
I am adding a SEPM (MR4MP2) to the existing environment and after 4 hours of replication I get the following error:

Synchronization to the remote site failed:
    JZ006: Caught IOException:
    com.sybase.jdbc2.jdbc.SybConnectionDeadException: JZ0C0:
    Connection is already closed.

I had the same message while installing another SEPM earlier. This was eventually fixed by reinstalling via VNC instead of RDP. So I installed this one also via VNC, but the problem keeps occuring.

In addition in the event log the following event keep popping up:

    Event Type: Error
    Event Source: secars
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 4096
    Date:  9/15/2009
    Time:  9:08:12 PM
    User:  N/A
    Computer: *****
    Description:
    Initialize Server Configuration Error

Also the SEPM service is not showing up in the Services. But I don't know if this is normal procedure since the installation is not completely finished yet.

There are no problems with the connection between the servers.

    I hope anyone can help.

    Thanks.

    1. Setup the SEPM sites and then log in one of the SEPM console

    2. Enter in Admin, choose Servers

    3. Click on "local site"

    4. Click on "Add Existing Replication Partner", the window "Specify Existing Replication Partner Wizard" appears

    5. In the window "Specify Existing Replication Partner Wizard", enter the IP address of the replication partner and the System Administrator credentials of the replication partner then validate

    6. The replication will  initialize but after a while the error message appeared  Caught IOExpection: Java.io.IOException: JZ0C0: Connection is
    already closed

    7. So restart from step 4 and in the window "Specify Existing Replication Partner Wizard", re - enter the IP address of the replication partner and the System Administrator credentials of the replication partner then validate

    Then the replication should succeed

Thanks, I tried however I get the following error:

"Failed to connect to the specified replication partner server. Verify that the server name and port are correct"

The server name and port are correct.
I treid to open a telnet session on port 8443 but that fails.
According to our network team the port is not being blocked.

Try this doc and make sure that you are having the right key stroke.
