Adding a Second EV Server to Site

Hi,

I'm currently running one EV 8.0 SP2 server to archive Exchange mailboxes.  I want to deploy a second EV server in the same site to start archiving our file server (to distribute the work load between the two servers).  Can someone tell me (or point me to any documentation) on how to add another EV server to the existing site?  Is it as simple as installing EV on the second server, running through the Configuraton Wizard to add it to the site, then configuring file system archiving?  Or are there more steps involved?  Thanks in advance....

Charles

Hi, I have some follow up

Hi,

I have some follow up questions -

  1. Since the new server will be handling FSA, I’m assuming that it needs to run its own EV Storage Service, correct?
  2. How should indexing be configured on the new server?  Does it need to run its own Indexing Service, which points to the existing indexing volumes on the first server?
  3. Can the second server be configured to also do mailbox archiving, so I can have both servers archiving mailboxes at the same time?  Or can only one EV server archive against Exchange at a time?

Thanks in advance....

Charles
