Adding service desk link to another Application to open up tickets

We have an EHR that allows our Physicians to submit a ticket in the event that they need assistance or need an analyst to assist them.  This was done with 6.5.  Now that we are on 7.1 sp2 when we add the link it brings up the login page and prompts for a user name and password,  6.5 did not.  Has anyone else linked service desk 7.1 to another application and have been able to bypass this prompt?  I was thinking that it may be a link that goes directly to the incident page but could not find it.
