This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hi All,

My netbackup is 6.5.5, vcb is 1.5 and ESX 4, master, proxy and media is win2003 sp2.

The ESX and a netbackup media server are in another domain separated by a firewall from my master server. i have opened port 1556 and 13724 and my master can backed up my media perfectly. But i can't validate the ESX on the media server side to do a VCB backup...under the credentials->new virtual machine.

Since I connect using port 443, do it mean I need to open up port 443 as well? Any other ports I need to open?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Regards,
ck

I would say open 443 on your

I would say open 443 on your network firewall as its specified on the local ESX host firewall.

Tip: Get overview/document your NBU environment. Run 'nbsu' and review the output.
