    Hello

I use a email based SMS service, and the domain they use is long and difficult to remember.

Can I use Address Masquerading to replace the domain with something more easy like "sms.to"?

When I try I get this message: Domain name not found

What you have described should work, as long as you made sure to choose outbound and fill in the fields correctly.

It does not work. I get no Address Masquerading.

I have tested with real address, put them in differents fields and nothing worked.
If I test with fake domain adress, I get a Domain lookup fail.

When using address masquerading, one thing to keep in mind is following as mentioned on page 94 in Symantec Brightmail Gateway 8.0 Administration Guide :

    QUOTE:
Outbound address masquerades change the apparent sender of a message. Inbound
address masquerades change the apparent recipient of a message.

No, it still does not work.

In Original address or domain to masquerade I put my fake mail address.
in New address or domain I put my real address.

No mail is received to my real address, and if I check audit logs I see that my mail has been delivered to my fake mail address.

    Hi Peter,

Seems like you are trying to send mail outbound but want to change the recipient address using address masquerading, right?

As I quoted earlier from the Admin Guide, the address masquerading changes the "sender address" in an outbound message.

If you want address masquerading to change the "recipient address" you will have to send the mail inbound, which means you will have to configure the fake domain/email address as the local address and then use Optional Destiantion Routing to deliver the message to proper destination.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks
