Address Masquerading not working like we thought it would

Hello. We have our main domain company.com in Exchange. We also have Sharepoint with mail-enabled document libraries that receive mail for sharepoint.company.com addresses. We do not publish DNS for sharepoint.company.com externally. The Exchange server knows how to route mail to sharepoint.company.com by using active directory contacts.

Sometimes our Exchange users send a message to other Exchange users within the company + some external recipients on the Internet + a Sharepoint library. For example a message could go to:

TO: jsmith@company.com;awalker@company.com;someone@yahoo.com
CC: libraryABC@sharepoint.company.com

When someone@yahoo.com receives the message and hits Reply-All, he ends up getting a non-delivery receipt for libraryABC@sharepoint.company.com.

I thought I could use the address masquerading feature in Brightmail Gateway to change any @sharepoint.company.com references to @company.com.

I entered the following Outbound masquerading entry:

Original Address New Address Apply To
sharepoint.company.com company.com
Outbound messages

But it is not working. What am I missing?

Masquerade

Hi Andrey,

Unfortunately the masquerading will only rewrite the from address on outbound and not any of the recipients including the cc in this case.  This has been requested, but it looks like it's probably not going to happen at least until the next major release which is planned for the autumn.  You should contact Support and let them know you are looking for this feature.

Cheers,

Kevin
